Life is either a daring adventure or nothing -Helen Keller
The quote above by Helen Keller contains within it two challenges, the first is to make of our lives a daring adventure.
Life can be understood by looking back but it can only be lived in the moment, we must dare to say yes to the path less traveled, to our dreams and to love. This can be a bitter pill to swallow, it is natural to desire comfort and safety, especially when such things have been denied to us.
But regret is more bitter by far.
The other challenge is more subtle, we must be able to SEE our lives as a daring adventure.
To be human is to be a story teller, through stories and myth making we understand and shape the world around us.
We grow up with myths, myths about the world, our parents and ourselves. But those stories can lift us up, our bury us beneath their weight and the hardest thing sometimes can be to shake off a story that was never really about you.
You are the hero of your own story, or at least you should be.
